A macOS utility that remembers window positions for each display setup and automatically restores them when monitors change.
What it is

Resettle: the homepage
Resettle is a macOS menu bar application that solves the problem of windows being rearranged when monitors are unplugged or plugged in. It automatically learns your display setups without requiring manual configuration, remembers where each window belongs on each setup, and restores them to the correct positions and displays when you reconnect. The app supports multiple monitors, full-screen windows, and can handle identical monitor models at different locations by asking you to identify the desk once. It runs entirely offline with no subscription, no account required, and includes a 14-day refund guarantee.

Quick answers
What does Resettle actually do?
Resettle remembers where each app's windows sit on each of your display setups and puts them back when that setup returns, whether after you plug in a monitor, undock, wake from sleep, or open the lid somewhere else. That is the whole product.
Do I need to create profiles?
No. Resettle notices the display setups you keep returning to and starts remembering them on its own. There is nothing to configure before it is useful. You can still name a desk or map one manually from the menu bar if you want to, but that is optional.
Which Macs does Resettle run on?
Resettle runs on macOS 14 Sonoma through macOS 27, on both Apple silicon and Intel processors as a universal binary.
Is Resettle a subscription?
No. Resettle costs $14.99 as a one-time purchase with no recurring fees. Your license does not expire and includes all updates to the version you bought.
What if I use the same monitor model at home and at work?
Resettle uses everything it can to tell two setups apart. When that genuinely isn't enough, it asks you once: pick This Setup Is… → Office from the menu bar, and it remembers the answer from then on.
