Sundown is a macOS menu bar application that blocks blue light and eliminates screen flicker to protect your circadian rhythm and sleep quality. The app warms your screen to a deep 500K red—far deeper than Apple's Night Shift which maxes out at 2700K—and removes invisible flicker that causes eye strain. You can set manual warmth with a single slider or create an automated schedule with up to six time-based steps that ease your screen from daylight to deep red throughout the evening. It includes seven presets, custom scheduling, anti-dithering for smooth visuals, and requires no account or cloud sync. The app runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 12 or later, downloads in about 15 MB, and works on up to 2 computers with a lifetime license.
