What it is

Dagger: the homepage

Dagger is a third-generation CI platform designed after Jenkins and GitHub Actions. It runs every code change through the same build and test pipelines, whether machine-generated or handwritten, before or after push.

The platform detects toolchains and recommends official modules while eliminating proprietary YAML and config drift. It computes artifacts lazily as an incremental DAG of sandboxed functions on your machine or on a shared remote engine.

Dagger is vertically integrated with a sandbox, scheduler, container runtime, build cache and tracing that share one execution and data model. Engineers at companies like Typesafe, Fastly, Nvidia, Fidelity, and Nine Entertainment use Dagger to accelerate their feedback loop at scale without wasting compute or tokens.

The Dagger Engine is open source and runs at no cost on local machines or personal servers. Dagger Cloud provides managed remote engines with scale-out, distributed cache, access control and observability on transparent usage-based pricing.
