ShadowHare: the homepage
ShadowHare is a visual and API change monitoring service that watches your web pages and APIs on a schedule and sends email alerts when changes are detected. It compares screenshots pixel by pixel and API responses field by field, presenting before and after versions side by side.
For visual monitoring, the service uses a real Chrome browser to load pages and take screenshots, with configurable sensitivity levels and exclusion zones for dynamic content. For APIs, it supports GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE requests, with alerts for status codes and latency. Both visual jobs and API jobs can be set to check every 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes depending on the plan.
The platform includes a Chrome extension for easily setting up monitoring on pages you're signed into, site agents for monitoring internal networks (on the Business plan), and comprehensive logs and reports. Data security features include encryption at rest for cookies, headers and request bodies, separate databases per Business customer, and audit logs kept for seven years on Business accounts.

What counts as a job?
One page or one API endpoint that ShadowHare checks on a schedule. On Individual, the 10 jobs can be any mix of visual and API jobs. On Business, 25 of each type are included.
Do disabled jobs count toward my job limit?
Yes. A disabled job stops checking but keeps its screenshots and logs, and storing those is what you pay for. Disabling rather than deleting preserves the history.
How is storage charged on Business?
100 GB of screenshots and saved API responses is included for the whole organization. Past that, each GB is $0.25 a month, charged on your daily average. Alternatively, you can choose to have the oldest screenshots removed to stay within 100 GB.
Can ShadowHare watch pages I have to sign in to?
Yes. A visual job can carry the cookies of a signed-in session. The easiest way is to use the ShadowHare extension for Chrome: sign in to the site, open the page and click Create a job. For pages only your own network can reach, use a site agent on the Business plan.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for. After that, captures stop and your data is kept for 45 days in case you change your mind, then deleted.
