Remove AI Metadata is a browser-based image metadata inspector and privacy cleaner. It lets you upload images in JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC format, scan them to see what metadata they contain (including GPS location, EXIF camera data, XMP and IPTC fields, AI generation prompts and workflows, and C2PA Content Credentials), and download cleaned copies with that data removed. All processing happens locally in your browser—images never leave your device or get uploaded to servers. The tool supports both lossless mode for PNG and JPEG files and redraw mode for other formats. It's designed for AI creators, photographers, social media managers, and privacy-conscious users who want to remove hidden metadata before sharing images online.

What does this AI metadata remover actually remove?
It scans each image for stored metadata, then removes AI generation tags, EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, PNG text, and C2PA Content Credentials when they are present in the file.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every image is scanned and cleaned locally in your browser, so your files never leave your device and are never uploaded to our servers. Only the number of cleaned images is sent to count credits.
How long does it take to remove metadata from an image?
Usually a few seconds per image. There is no upload or queue: scanning starts as soon as you add files and cleaning runs on your own device. Files can be up to 50 MB each, and Pro cleans up to 50 images per run.
Can this turn off the AI label on Instagram or Facebook?
It removes stored metadata that may contribute to an AI label, including C2PA and AI generation tags. However, platforms can also use other signals such as invisible watermarks, so no metadata remover can guarantee that an AI label will never appear.
Does it remove SynthID or other pixel watermarks?
No. It removes file-level metadata. It does not remove robust watermarks embedded in the pixels, such as the SynthID watermark that Google and OpenAI add to their images.
