Onsite Link Verdict is a WordPress broken link checker that distinguishes between genuinely broken links and servers refusing automated requests. It proves a link is broken through either confirmed 404/410 status codes (verified with a second request) or three consecutive failed checks with no server response. The plugin runs entirely on your own server with no cloud service, account requirement, or credits needed.
The tool checks internal links, external links, images, and links in comments, while identifying links to your own draft, private and pending posts. It reads pages as visitors see them, finding links built by page builders like Elementor and Divi. Processing happens in background batches with strict performance ceilings to avoid impacting site visitors. Pro versions add URL replacement across multiple posts with preview and undo, plus CSV export capabilities.

Why does the plugin report links as broken when they open fine in a browser?
The plugin distinguishes between what automated requests receive and what browsers receive. Servers often respond differently to robots than to people. LinkedIn answers 999, Amazon answers 503, and sites behind Cloudflare show challenge pages—none of these links are actually broken, they just refuse automated requests.
Does the plugin edit my content automatically?
No. The free version has no code that writes to your content at all. Even in Pro, where you can replace URLs across multiple posts, nothing is changed until you have seen the full list and clicked the button. There is always an undo option available.
What happens when my licence expires?
When a licence ends, the Pro features switch off and the plugin returns to doing what the free version does. It never touches any content you have already changed on your site.
