OpenSEO: the homepage
OpenSEO is an open-source SEO suite offering keyword research with difficulty and volume metrics, live SERP results with authority scores, rank tracking on desktop and mobile, backlink analysis with link history, technical site audits with 117 checks, AI visibility tracking across 120+ AI models, and local rank checking with geo-grids.
You can run it online at no cost with all features unlimited, or self-host the entire suite on your own server using Docker. The software is MIT licensed, giving you full access to read and modify the code.
OpenSEO integrates with AI agents through an MCP server with 76 tools, allowing integration with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients. Search data comes from YepAPI with per-lookup pricing, while the crawler, site audits and Google Search Console data cost nothing. You set monthly spending limits to control costs.

Is OpenSEO free?
The hosted app at openseo.gg costs nothing with all features unlimited today. The self-hosted version is free under the MIT licence with every feature unlocked. Search data such as keyword volumes, rankings and backlinks costs money; you pay YepAPI per lookup, every call is listed with its cost, and a monthly limit caps what you spend.
Can I self-host OpenSEO?
Yes. OpenSEO is open source under the MIT licence. You can run the app, the API and the MCP server on your own machine or server with Postgres. A self-hosted install uses your data key the same way, so lookups cost the same as the hosted version.
Is the self-hosted version limited in any way?
No. Every feature of the hosted app is in the open-source code with no feature gates, licence keys or usage caps. You can run it on your own server for as long as you like.
Can I stop an AI agent from overspending?
Yes, in two ways. Every paid tool an agent calls takes a spending ceiling: if the call could cost more, it is refused before anything is spent. And a monthly limit in Settings stops all spending, from you or any agent, once it is reached.
Does Search Console cost anything?
No. Google's data is free, and reading it never touches your data balance. The site audit crawl is free too; only JavaScript rendering is billed.
