Hardn: the homepage

Hardn is a security scanning platform that checks websites, web apps, REST APIs and code repositories for security problems. The scanner runs 27 read-only checks and provides a letter grade from A to F along with detailed reports of every issue found and the steps required to fix each one.

Developers can integrate Hardn into their CI/CD pipelines using the REST API, command-line interface or GitHub Actions. The platform includes a Runtime SDK for Python and Node.js that can detect automated agent traffic, serve honeytokens and screen for prompt injection attacks.

Ownership verification is required before scanning any site. Scans are included at different frequencies depending on the plan: monthly for free accounts, weekly for Solo, and daily for Pro and Agency plans. Credits can be purchased for additional scans, deep scans with test accounts, and AI code reviews.

Quick answers

  1. What does the grade mean?

The score starts at 100 and drops for each security problem, with larger deductions for serious ones: 25 points for critical, 12 for high, 5 for medium and 2 for low. A grade is 90 or above, B is 80, C is 65, D is 50, and anything lower is F. Any critical issue caps the grade at D maximum.

  2. What is the difference between a public scan and a deep scan?

A public scan checks what anyone on the internet can see. A deep scan uses test accounts you provide and checks that accounts and customers cannot see each other's data and that nothing private is readable without signing in.

  3. How long does a scan take?

Scans usually take a few minutes, though large sites can take longer. Every scan stops after 20 minutes maximum.

  4. How do I prove I own a site?

You can either add a TXT DNS record named _hardn-challenge.your-host with the value Hardn provides, or put a text file at /.well-known/hardn-verify.txt containing that value. Then choose Check now to verify.

  5. How do credits work?

Credits pay for what your plan does not include: a site scan costs 1 credit, a deep scan costs 3, and an AI code review costs 2 to 16 depending on the agent and repository size. Paid plans add AI review credits each month and unused credits roll over. Credit packs are one-off purchases: 12 credits for A$99, 60 for A$399 and 200 for A$1,200.
