macOS app that monitors multiple coding agents in the notch and alerts you when they need your attention
What it is

Gnista: the homepage
Gnista is a macOS application that monitors multiple coding agents running on your Mac in a compact notch interface or menu bar. It displays the status of various coding tools including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot and many others, showing whether each is working, done, or waiting for your input. The app lets you approve or deny permission requests directly from the notch without interrupting your workflow, and can jump you to the exact terminal tab or editor window where an agent is running. It supports custom agents via JSON hooks and integrates with major terminals and editors. Notifications respect your Focus modes, Zoom calls and screen sharing.

Quick answers
Which agents does it work with?
Gnista works with Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot, OpenCode, Devin, Qwen Code, Droid, Qoder, Antigravity, Trae, Cursor, Mistral Vibe, CodeBuddy, Kimi Code, Kilo Code, MiMoCode, ZCode, WorkBuddy, Grok Build, Amp, Auggie, OpenHands, Goose, Pi, Oh My Pi and Codewhale. It also supports Qoder CN, QoderWork, QwenWork and Trae CN. Aider and DeepSeek Harness work by watching the process but cannot report when they need you. Agents on Linux servers over SSH are supported, and custom agents can report via one line of JSON.
Can I answer an agent without going to it?
Yes, for many agents. Claude Code, Codex, Devin, OpenCode, Qwen Code, CodeBuddy, Droid, Qoder CLI, Kilo Code, MiMoCode, ZCode, WorkBuddy and Kimi Code let you approve or deny requests directly, with reasons if you like. Some agents also support answering questions and selecting plans from the notch. Agents like Gemini CLI, Copilot, Antigravity, Mistral Vibe, Grok Build, OpenHands, Codewhale and Trae cannot take answers from outside, so Gnista shows what they are asking and takes you to their tab.
Which terminals can it jump to?
Gnista can jump to the exact tab or pane in Terminal, iTerm2, Ghostty, tmux, kitty, WezTerm, Warp, cmux, Zellij, Orca and Superset, and to terminals in VS Code, Cursor, Devin Desktop, VSCodium, Kiro and Trae. It works with the Claude, Codex, Factory and WorkBuddy apps, Devin's agent panel, and Xcode's chat. For agents on servers, it jumps to the SSH terminal tab or tmux pane you logged in from.
What happens to my data?
Nothing about your sessions leaves your Mac. Gnista has no telemetry, no analytics and requires no account. Your sessions stay on your Mac. Gnista goes online only to check for updates, to check your licence, to download model prices, and after crashes to send a crash report if you agree.
Can I use the keyboard?
Yes. ⌘Y allows and ⌘N denies while the notch shows a request. Turn on Open with a shortcut in Settings ▸ General, and ⌥G, or a shortcut of your own, opens the list from any app: ↑ ↓ choose a session, Return goes there, Esc closes it. Y allows, A always allows, N denies, H hands a request back to the agent, R replies and 1–9 pick an option.
