Quick answers
What is userTourKit?
userTourKit is a source-available, headless React product tour library under BSL 1.1. It includes seventeen packages covering tours, React bindings, hints, analytics, checklists, adoption, announcements, media, scheduling, surveys, and AI chat. It is free for development, evaluation, testing and CI, with a one-time licence key required for production deployments starting at $9.99.
Is the userTourKit Pro license a subscription?
No. Every tier is a one-time purchase. You pay once and the key activates the version you bought forever. Each published version also converts to the MIT licence on its Change Date, so the code you shipped cannot be taken away.
What happens if userTourKit is discontinued?
Three structural answers: (1) BSL 1.1 grants the right to copy, modify and redistribute the source, so any team can fork the version they have and keep building. (2) The licence is perpetual with no recurring fee or auto-expiry, so your build keeps working on your schedule. (3) Every published version converts to the MIT licence on its Change Date, and all source, CI, benchmarks and docs live in a public monorepo, so builds are reproducible from a clean checkout.
Does userTourKit work with React 19, Next.js App Router, and Tailwind?
Yes to all three. It has first-class adapters for Next.js App Router, Pages Router, React Router, and TanStack Router. There are no inline styles fighting Tailwind, no CSS injection, and no global reset. shadcn/ui is the reference stack.
Who maintains userTourKit?
userTourKit is built and maintained by Dominique Degottex (domidex01), a software engineer who builds accessible React components and developer tooling. Verifiable profiles are linked on this page (GitHub, LinkedIn, X). The project is solo-maintained and developed in the open at github.com/domidex01/tour-kit.
