Lathe: the homepage

Lathe provides dedicated single-tenant machines for solo builders and small teams, each running a full stack of open-source engines: Postgres, Redis, CouchDB, NATS, and SeaweedFS. Users can deploy applications and connect AI agents through an MCP server to automate machine creation, configuration, and deployment. Every paid plan includes daily backups, TLS, email support, and 20 TB of monthly outbound traffic at a flat monthly price with no per-user or usage-based metering. The platform handles patching, monitoring, and infrastructure operations automatically.

Listed capabilities

  • Deploy applications from GitHub repositories with automatic health checks and live updates
  • Integrated sign-in using Supabase Auth server with email links, codes, OAuth and multi-factor authentication
  • Daily backups tested monthly with 7-day retention
  • MCP server for AI agent automation of machine operations
  • Connection pooling with PgBouncer and TLS encryption
  • IP allowlist security controls
  • Included Postgres extensions: pgvector, pg_stat_statements, pg_trgm, pgcrypto
  • Automatic instance restart and monitoring

Pricing

Free plan: $0, includes 0.5 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 10 GB disk, 1000 GB monthly traffic, one per person, no daily backups. Paid plans billed monthly in USD in advance: Mini $15/month (1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB storage, 20 TB traffic); Starter $29/month (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB storage, 20 TB traffic); Plus $4

Quick answers

  1. How long does it take to get a working instance?

About 5 minutes on average. The machine boots from a pre-built image and the engines you select start automatically with it.

  2. What happens if something breaks or I need help?

Email support@lathe.live and a person replies within 24 hours on business days. Failed jobs, health checks and backup verifications alert the team directly, and an instance that stops responding is restarted automatically.

  3. What does a paid plan include?

All paid plans include the dedicated machine, its storage, 20 TB of outbound traffic per month, every engine switched on, deployed applications and sign-in, daily backups kept for 7 days, TLS certificates, the portal, REST API, MCP server and email support, all at one flat monthly price.

  4. Is there anything billed on top of the plan price?

No. The invoice is only the plan price. Egress, connections, requests, engines, apps, users and backups are all included with no additional charges.

  5. Is there a free tier or a trial?

A free plan: 0.5 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 10 GB disk and 1000 GB of traffic a month, nothing to pay now or later, one per person, and no daily backups. It upgrades to Mini on the same machine, keeping everything on it. Paid plans start at $15/month on Mini; the first month is paid at creation and the card is kept for renewals. Deleting a paid instance stops billing and keeps a final snapshot for 7 days. New accounts are limited to one instance until the first renewal.
