Quick answers
Does my audio really stay on my Mac?
Yes. Dictano runs the Whisper speech model on your own machine with no server, account, or network request during dictation. You can turn off Wi-Fi and it keeps working, and the only download is the speech model itself on first launch.
How accurate is it?
Dictano uses Whisper large-v3-turbo, the same model family behind most paid dictation apps. On a normal speaking voice it produces clean, punctuated text and handles technical vocabulary better than the dictation built into macOS.
What does it cost?
Dictano costs $19.99 one-time with a 30-day money-back guarantee, with no subscription. This compares to $15 a month for Wispr Flow or $8.49 a month for SuperWhisper Pro.
What do I need to run it?
You need a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 13 or later. The app itself is a 3 MB download and the speech model is a one-time 547 MB download on first launch.
How many Macs does one license cover?
One license covers two Macs. If you replace a Mac, you can email the company and the old seat is released so the key activates on the new one.
